Prince Edward Island is the smallest province in Canada in terms of area, but has a high population density. Charlotte Town is the largest city and center of the province.
The county has a population of approximately 160,000 (2021) of which 36,000 live in Charlottetown.
The average temperature in this province is between -11 to 28 degrees Celsius.
The province’s main economy is based on agriculture, and about a quarter of Canada’s potatoes are produced in the province.
Prince Edward Work Permit Stream
This program is for foreign nationals interested in pursuing a viable business opportunity in PEI who would
like to apply for a nomination for permanent residency through the PEI PNP. If approved as a provincial
nominee, you and your dependent family members can apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship
Canada (IRCC) to become a permanent resident of Canada in the Provincial Nominee class.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this stream, candidates must meet the following criterion.
- Age:
Must be between 21-59 years of age.
- Net worth:
Have at least $600,000 CAD in unencumbered net business and personal assets that can readily be transferred to Canada;
- Education:
Have a minimum of Canadian high school diploma or equivalent foreign credential verified by an Education Credential Assessment (ECA), taken in the last five years prior to the date the EOI is submitted.
- Ownership percentage:
At least one-third (33.33%)
- Investment:
Invest minimum $150,000.
- Language requirement:
Minimum of CLB 4 equivalent in English or French.
