Nova Scotia Entrepreneur Imm Stream
NS Entrepreneur Stream is for experienced business owners or senior business managers who want to live in Nova Scotia. They must start a new business or buy an existing business and must actively participate in the day-to-day management of the business. After operating the business for a year, the entrepreneur may be nominated for permanent resident status. Application to the stream is by invitation only.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this stream, candidates must meet the following criterion at the time their application is mailed to the NSPNP.
- Experience & business ownership:
In the last 10 years:
– have at least 3 years’ experience actively managing and owning a business (1/3 ownership minimum) OR
– more than 5 years’ experience in a senior business management role;
- Net worth:
have a net worth of at least $600,000 CAD;
- Education:
– Have a minimum of Canadian high school diploma or equivalent foreign credential verified by an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)
Business proposal:
You must submit a business proposal to establish a new business or purchase of an existing business in British Columbia.
- Ownership percentage:
At least one-third (33.33%)
- Investment:
Invest minimum $150,000 in an eligible new business or to purchase and improve an existing business in NS.
- Job creation:
Must create at least one full-time equivalent job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
- Language requirement:
have a score of at least 5 on the Canadian Language Benchmark in speaking, listening, reading and writing in English or French;
