Federal Skilled Worker Program
This program is for applicants who have at least one year of work experience in one of the skilled occupations(NOC 0/A/B).
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this stream, candidates must meet the following criterion.
- Work Experience:
Candidates must prove that they have:
– worked in 1 of these National Occupational Classification (NOC) job groups:
– Managerial jobs (skill type 0)
– Professional jobs (skill level A)
– Technical jobs and skilled trades (skill level B)
- Education:
Have a minimum of Canadian high school diploma or equivalent foreign credential verified by an Education Credential Assessment (ECA).
- Language requirement:
Minimum of CLB 7 equivalent in English or French.
- Selection Factors:
If the candidate meets all the minimum requirements, then his/her application will be assessed based on:
– age
– education
– work experience
– whether the candidate has a valid job offer
– English and/or French language skills
– adaptability (how well the candidate is likely to settle in Canada)
These factors are part of a 100-point grid used to assess eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.Candidates earn points for how well they do in each of the 6 factors.
The current pass mark is 67 points.
